How we handle data on spherolino.com
The short version. The photos and videos you open are processed entirely inside your browser — they are never uploaded to us. We do not use analytics services, advertising networks or tracking cookies. We do keep an anonymous tally of how often the viewer is used; it records no IP address and no identifier (see section 5).

2. Your files stay with you
Spherolino is a browser application. When you open a 360° photo or video, the file is read locally by your browser and displayed using your device's graphics hardware. No file content, file name or snapshot is transmitted to our server or to any third party. Snapshots you save are written directly to your own device. We therefore have no access to your images at any time and cannot store, view or delete them.
3. Server log files
When you call up the pages, your browser transmits technical data that our hosting provider records in server log files: the page requested, date and time, the amount of data transferred, the referring page, browser type and version, operating system and the requesting IP address. This data is required to deliver the website and to ensure its stability and security.
Legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the technically error-free presentation and security of the website. The data is not merged with other sources and is deleted or anonymised by the provider after a short retention period.
4. Hosting
This website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. The provider processes the data described in section 3 on our behalf as a processor under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.
5. Anonymous usage counter
To find out whether the tool is used at all, and which functions matter, the viewer reports a small set of events to our own server: a photo or video was opened, a snapshot was saved, the horizon was levelled, fullscreen was opened.
Only a counter per event and calendar day is incremented. We store no IP address, no cookie, no session, no user agent and no other identifier, and no information about your files. The result is a plain total such as "47 snapshots on 2026-09-13", from which no conclusions about individual people can be drawn. Daily values older than 180 days are removed.
Legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the needs-based improvement of the service. Because no personal data is processed, there is nothing here that could be attributed to you.
6. Cookies and third-party content
We set no cookies for visitors and use no tracking or advertising technologies. No fonts, scripts or media are loaded from third-party servers, so no data is passed to external providers when you use the site. The viewer uses your browser's local storage only as a fallback for the visible view counter when our server cannot be reached; this value stays on your device.
The only cookie used anywhere on this site is a session cookie on our internal, password-protected statistics page, which is not publicly accessible and is used solely by the operator.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to information (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in section 1.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg.
8. Changes
We may update this policy so that it always reflects the current state of the service. The version published here applies.
